Xiomara Laugart or “La Negra” as she is popularly known, was a Muse to the Nueva Trova artists and has been representing her country and her people, performing at venues around the globe for over 30 years and with the greatest of international talents! She is a living legend in her native Cuba where she has recorded more than 15 albums and shared stages with the likes of Tito Puente, Omar Portuondo, Pablo Milanes, Silvio Rodriguez, and Raul Torres amoung many others.

Born in Cuba, Axel Tosca grew up in a musical family. His mother i renowned singer Xiomara Laugart and his father is singer-guitarist Albert Tosca. Introduced to guitar at age four, Laugart began playing piano playing piano by age seven, and soon joined his parents on-stage for his first show at Casa de las Americas. In addition to performing with his parents, he attended music school, and has played with: Dennis & Swing, the Afro-Cuban All Stars, Bobby Carcases, Teresa Garcia Caturla, Jose Miguel Crego, among others. Along with classical music, jazz, and Latin traditions, he also discovered hip-hop, and played with the Roots when they toured Cuba!
