About the Band:
A night of Flamenco Fusion with Albert Alabedra 4tet
Featuring Barbara Martinez, Ernesto Llorens and Elisabeth Torras.
Albert Alabedra is a Spanish guitarist and composer from Barcelona based in New York City. In 2012 Albert recorded his album ‘Barcelona-New York’ featuring world renowned Melissa Aldana on saxophone and mastered by engineer legend Robert Honablue (Miles Davis, Santana, Barbara Streisand, Weather Report, Aretha Franklin…)
Since then Albert recorded 2 more albums ‘Occhiolism and Wood Wide Web’ produced and mastered by Bob DiGiacomo. Albert is currently recording his new album, a project he shares with the multitalented singer Barbara Martinez.
Albert and Barbara have been playing together since 2015 and their unique ability of fusing flamenco with jazz, latin music and middle eastern music is something quite unique.
Barbara’s extensive performance career began at age 11 with The Children’s Chorus of the Metropolitan Opera and she leads many personal projects such as Trash Bata, Barbarella and many others that began in 2010 with her show sold out at Carnegie Hall. Barbara and Albert have been working together in the last year composing their new music and they will play for the first time at Minton’s. Their chemistry on stage will leave you speechless and even more when joined by Ernesto Llorens on violin (Birelli Lagrene, Stochelo Rosenberg) and flamenco dancer Elisabeth Torras (Manolo Carrasco, Javier Latorre)
