About the Band:
JC. Hopkins Biggish Band
The combination of pianist-bandleader JC Hopkins and band expertly recapture the vitality and energy of Harlem jazz and blues of 70 years ago without slavishly imitating anyone and are thus a perfect fit at Minton’s, where they will capture the attention of dancers as well as diners.
Izaiah Harris is a tap dancer, jazz singer, and musical theater performer who has been passionately entertaining on stage since as long as he can remember. He started tap dancing at the age of 5 at Studio One Dance Theater on the southside of Chicago, where he performed a total of 13 consecutive dance recitals with the company.
Vanisha Gould came to New York in 2015 from Simi Valley, California. Inspired by artists like Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Joni Mitchell, Carmen McRae and Ella Fitzgerald – she has successfully curated her own sound as a composer and band leader. Performing originals and music from the Great American Songbook on several groundbreaking stages both in New York and overseas, she aspires to continue sharing her voice with audiences in New York and beyond.
