About the Band:

HUGO SANBONE PAGODE ORCHESTRA
“Hailing from Brazil & bringing that Afro-Baiano drip to Harlem!”

Hugo Sanbone is known in the music scene for playing with great artists such as Araketu, Ivete Sangalo, Harmonia do Samba, Carlinhos Brown, Edson Gomes, Psirico, Daniela Mercury among others. He created the Sanbone Pagode Orchestra-project that brings together Pagode, one of the most popular and successful   musical genres in Bahia, to the erudition of an orchestra.

In 2009 he received the award for best instrumental music at the VII Festival da Educadora FM in Salvador and also at the I Festival de Música das Rádios Públicas (ARPUB) with the song “SINFONIA PRIMEIRA DE PAGODE”. In addition to several performances with the diversity of artists from Bahia, he is currently a member of Orkestra Rumpilezz.

As a conductor, composer, multi-instrumentalist and musical director with an innovative style, he presents his solo project with as predominant characteristic the fusion of styles and genres arising from his musical experience anchored in the rhythmic patterns of Afro-Soteropolitan music. The repertory includes original compositions and arrangements influenced by Samba from Recôncavo, Bossa Nova, Forró, Jazz and Pagode.
